Correcting the sitting

Sitting Correctly for Long Periods.
If you have pain resulting from factors other than just poor posture, you may need to do more than correct your posture. You may need to perform special exercises. In this chapter, I am describing only the exercises required to reduce postural stress and to obtain postural correction. In later chapters, you will find exercises for relief of pain and increase of function in both the back and the neck.
In order to avoid the development of lower back pain due to prolonged poor sitting, it is necessary that you (1) sit correctly and (2) interrupt prolonged sitting at regular intervals.
Correcting the Sitting Posture
