On the other hand, once we have learned the cor- rect concepts, poorl seat designed chairs will not have such a detrimental effect on our sitting posture.
Several years ago, the Toyota Motor Corporation in New Zealand asked the McKenzie Institute International to provide expertise to assist the company in the design of new seats for a variety of its vehicles sold in that country. From this cooperative venture has emerged a seat with outstanding qualities. It combines spinal support and driver stability (Fig. 4.7). The seat has met with universal consumer approval, especially when used for extended trips.
