The lumbar roll
Relatively few chairs’ seat backs provide adequate support for the lower back. For this reason, for people with ongoing back problems, a portable lumbar roll is essential equipment. When sitting on a seat that has a back, you will find that a lumbar roll will facilitate the maintenance of a correct lordosis and correct posture. A lumbar roll is a fat, cylindrical-shaped support made mostly of foam rubber that is designed specifically for the lower back. Without this support, the lower back will slouch whenever you are distracted or stop concentrating on anything other than holding the lordosis actively with your own muscles. For instance, if you must focus on talking, reading, writing, watching TV, or driving your car, chances are you will lose the lordosis and slouch into bad posture
